Yes - the laptop recognizes the monitor. Connected monitor to Dell laptop (VGA to DP cable) through a Lasuney multi-function port. Also tried to connect monitor directly to laptop. It recognizes but no display.

The monitor has following INPUT ports

Inputs
1 VGA
1 DVI-D

What is your Dell laptop ? Doe it have HDMI port ? If yes, all you need to a direct cable HDMI - DVI Otherwise, please post back which ports your Dell machine has ?

Yes - you are correct about the monitor outputs. The Dell laptop however has only one USB-C port. As I mentioned in my previous post I am using a cable that has a VGA (connection to the monitor) to DP (connection to the multi-port hub). The Hub has a DP input and connects to the laptop through the USB-c port.

I have also tried connecting directly - VGA out to USB-c input - and the laptop recognizes the monitor but I still cannot get the monitor to display with that direct connection.
