Operating System: Chrome OS

When I'm either closing the lid or adjusting the angle of the screen, the screen flickers on and off. At times, there are also sudden screen flickers while I'm typing or it just went blank for a few seconds and all I did was tap on the trackpad.   

 

Also, there have been random times the screen brightness changes to almost zero (I can see the brightness icon pop up) on its own and goes back to normal all on its own within seconds. 

 

It's a Chromebook 14a-na series if that helps. What causes this flickering issue? Has anyone else had this random brightness swing happen to them, too?
