Yes, I am having the same issue. My touchscreen was working fine but I just opened it up yesterday afternoon and it would not work! My touchpad and everything else runs like normal, my touchscreen just will not work! I have tried all the suggested fixes, even have foctory reset the chromebook three times and it does not fix the issue.

Hi! @xxcfbxx,

Try resetting the Chromebook to factory settings following the steps recommended below.

Sign out of your Chromebook.
Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift + r.
Click Restart.
In the box that appears, click Reset and sign in with your Google Account.
Note: The account you sign in with after you reset your Chromebook will be the owner account.
Follow the steps that appear.
Once you've reset your Chromebook:
Set up your Chromebook again
Check if the problem is fixed

Lastly, try performing a recovery on the Chromebook.

Refer this article from Google to know more information about performing a recovery. Click Here

I tried all of these and none of the solutions worked.  It's like the calibration is off.  When I touch the screen it thinks I'm touching a completely different part of the screen.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • What is the product number of your Chromebook? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Just got the Hp x360 Chromebook 14 . worked great till last night. i noticed my touch screen wasnt working properly. the touch has flipped. if the  button you want to touch is at the bottom of the screen if you touch the top of screen the exact opposite of the button.... it will activate. so the touch still works. example i had s row of blocks to check off in one of my setups and when i check off the bottom box it actually check off the top one that was exact opposite on the screen. i did a hard reset and 2 washes no change. everything else seems to work fine t......touch pad and apps

As stated i have tried all of the above suggested fixes several times...... it seems like this would bee some sort of a command that would re-calibrate or reverse setting this got locked in........all works it just doesnt recognize where the touch is on the screen. The touch pad moves the cursor around and selects everything I point at...cant understand why my finger cant select the same way

I am having the same trouble. The touchscreen worked just fine a few days ago when I was using my computer and when I went to use it today it will not work at all. I just bought the computer December 10th . How do I fix this problem. I already did a hard reset.

@Kls1212,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the touchscreen is not working on your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

What is the exact model for your computer?

Have you tried all the steps suggested in the thread?

Meanwhile, I recommend you perform a power wash on the computer and check if it helps.

Here is how it is done.

  1. Sign out of your Chromebook.
  2. Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift + r.
  3. Select Restart.
  4. In the box that appears, select Powerwash Continue.
  5. Follow the steps that appear and sign in with your Google Account

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Cheers!
