I have and old HP DV6 1243cl laptop, recently I lost the "video / image" even the BIOS image at startup.
The laptop works fine, I attach a 2nd y 3rd video (HDMI and VGA) and works ok, the BIOS is updated (F.44).
The HP logo behind the screen are illuminated and after to many (many) Win+Ctrl+Shift+B (video re-init) the image appear - is the only way that I can found to recover the image -
Some suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Diego.

Sounds like the screen is failing and all you can do about that is pay a LOT of money to get it replaced. Not something you should attempt yourself. HP will not do this for you because they only do repairs on laptops that are still in warranty.
