Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
The max memory that can be installed is 2 x 1 GB.
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
I know on the dv6400 models with the Intel processors, there was a BIOS update that provided support for 2 x 2 GB of memory, but I don't have any BIOS update info on the AMD models.
If you had previously updated the BIOS, then it might be possible.
Since you are not running XP or Vista on your notebook, you can't update the BIOS, or it will brick the notebook.
You could put one toe in the water, and buy a DDR2-6400 memory module, remove one of the 1 GB modules, and add it to the remaining 1 GB chip, and see if the notebook works with 3 GB. If it does, then you would probably be safe buying the second one.
This memory module would work if your notebook's memory slot supports a 2 GB chip.
I think this seller ships from China though.
