Hello!
This is the second time I have had this software issue, and the first time it was still under warranty so a support agent took control and reinstalled the HDMI driver to fix it. However, in summary, my HDMI port connected to a ViewSonic monitor would work previously, and then it didn't. I tested the HDMI cable, the monitor, etc. and found that the cable and monitor worked with other devices. When the agent reinstalled the driver for the HDMI port, it worked again, and it worked for several months of daily use. I didn't use the laptop for a couple weeks, and then all of a sudden the HDMI port doesn't work again. I think I need to fix the driver (I believe the agent uninstalled and then re-installed it, or something), but I'm not sure exactly how, and which driver it would be. Can anyone help with this?
Thanks so much in advance for your kindness!

@Plaedo You may want to install all available windows updates, as a patch may have been released by Microsoft to resolve such issues, if there are no new updates available, please use the below steps to reinstall the graphics card drivers from the device manager:
Step 1: Use Windows + X and select device manager.
Step 2: look for display adapters, and right click on the available display adapters, then select uninstall, when done, restart the computer.
Step 3: Update the graphics driver for your specific computer model.
For more information on updating drivers, please see HP support document Downloading or Updating Software and Drivers for HP Computers
