HP ENVY - 15t-as100 CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

 Hello There,

I have an almost 3 years old HP ENNY 15" laptop. It works fine except for the fact when I'm trying to extend my laptop display to two external monitors, using Targus USB-C dual video-4K docking station with power delivery, the external monitors are not detecting my laptop at all though the LED power indicator on the docking station lits up solid green.

I feel my current laptop doesn't have the USB-C port to extend my laptop display to the external monitors. Is there any way, I can extend the display of my laptop to two external monitors. The docking port is working fine with my office laptop (Dell Expiron).

Any help from you will be appreciated.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Thanks,

Manish

@ManTew

HP ENVY - 15t-as100 CTO is a CTO machine, it REAL specs is N/A. It should has same ports as the following machine

                   HP ENVY - 15-as105tu

It ONLY has 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use

Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,

Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

             https://www.amazon.com.au/CableCreation-Adapter-Windows-Compatible-2560x1440/dp/B013G4CJM8

For more connectivity, please use

                        True Universal Docking Stations

Regards.

Hello Support,

My laptop specs are affixed below. All I wanted to do is to extend my current laptop display to the two or (later may be three) external 4K monitors (27" screen size).

I currently have a USB TYPE C hub for an online company www.mobaos.com which work perfectly fine with my other Dell laptop (as it has a USB C port to connect to) but doesn't work on my HP Envy laptop.

Also, the suggested hardware (HUB) in the earlier suggestion was from Amazon Australia site and the hub was not even available to buy.

Please give me a working/better solution where I can extend my HP Envy laptop display to the 2/3 external monitors without a convoluted solution with lots of hardware wires running on my desk to accomplish the task :).

Looking forward to hearing back from you sooner.

hello HP Support,

I'm still not able to get a definitive answer to my problem. Can someone who has Hardware expertise suggest me what hardware to buy from amazon.com or any such reliable stores which will make my laptop extend its display to the two external monitors (HD Display) plus the audio on my host laptop?

I believe it should be a simple fix but I'm still not able to get a clear and confident answers from the experts :).

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks,

Manish
