I baby my laptop because it's my bread and butter, never dropped, never left in extreme conditions, but now, it has suddenly become warped and I can barely open or close it.
I see this is happening to A LOT of HP ENVY AND HP PRODUCT USERS. This is not acceptable! I am still paying it off. I googled it and was so disappointed to see this is a common problems. Please call me or email me at [Personal Information Removed]. Support PLEASE!

Welcome to the HP User Community.
I am sorry your computer is not working properly.
Do not try to close the case in this condition - the damage won't get better and it could certainly get worse if you break the hinges.

Please be aware that including private information here in our very public Community can draw the wrong kind of attention. Do not answer any solicitations from anyone you do not know. HP will never cold-call you nor will HP Support ever answer an email request to open a Support case. Not.

It is possible that the heating and warping is the result of a failed, bloated battery.
If that is the case, the only solution is to remove the damaged battery from the computer and replace it.
If nothing else in the case has been damaged, replacing the battery will resolve (fix) the problem.
Things that are the Battery
All batteries die, some do so quietly and some first inflate and then fail.

"Fat" Battery / Bloated Battery / Swollen Battery – Sealed / Internal Battery
- Swollen battery might be hiding OR there might be evidence that the battery has inflated. For example, notebook case warps or won’t close, touch-pad stops working, “odd” bulging near the keyboard.
- If the battery is in a swollen or bloated condition, the battery must be removed from the computer and replaced. There are no other remedies, tests, or useful options.

There is a deeper underlying problem with the design of the HP Envy. I took it to a repair shop and just had the battery checked and the battery is fine. I had to pay $435.00 plus tax to have it checked out, have the damage done by the overheating repaired and major parts replaced. The computer expert found no reason why it was overheating and warped, why the cooling fan malfunctioned, and why the back overheated, warped and detached.
It is obviously a flaw in design and the unit model should be recalled! It's all over the internet that these computers overheat and warp. Not fair to the consumers!!!!! Please reimburse or replace my $1300 computer that I am STILL PAYING OFF!
