The screen won't display. Nothing, not faint, just nothing. Can plug in external monitor in "duplicate" mode. Cannot extend. Touch screen works. No trauma to laptop (dropping, stepping on, bumping, etc.) It just stopped. Things I've tried.
1. took out battery and held power button for 15 seconds, booted.
2. Tried to boot to bios (can't see anything)
3. Deleted the graphics card driver and the monitor driver. Reboot, they get reinstalled.
4. Try to update the drivers, they are up to date.
5. Try every configuration of duplicate and extend with external monitor.
Pretty sure the hardware failed. So, anything else to try to prove it is hardware? I am 6 months out of warranty and the local shop says this happens a lot with this brand and model. Can HP get me a new screen?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
- When was the last time it worked without these issues?
- Have you updated Graphics and Chipset drivers?
- Have you checked the display on an external monitor?
let’s try these steps to resolve the problem:
I recommend you attempt to access the BIOS screen by tapping on F10 while the computer is restarting,
If the issue persists in the BIOS screen which is outside windows, it would confirm a hardware failure.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
