HP Elite x2 1013 G3 Tablet
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

As I have written in the topic - I have an issue with a touch screen. I can rarely make it work - most of the time it doesn't. HP support assistant says that's everything is updated, device manager says that touch screen is correctly installed and is working properly.

Reinstalling touch screen in device manager didn't help. Sometimes everything is ok and after restarting the device it just stops.

Is there any solution to this issue?

Any ideas?

Hi - I work on the various X2 models, and although I have not encountered that on the 1013 specifically, what you describe sounds similar to other models earlier in the range. The resolve is the ribbon cable between screen and motherboard. Its quite difficult to precisely say what the issue is but if the problem is intermittent then I would suspect the ribbon cable is not seated properly at one end or the other. They are connected by a very small slot which you open by your fingernail (or small tool) lifting the tiny (usually grey) clip and then pulling the ribbon cable out. You should then clean the contacts with alcohol and ensure the ribbon is replaced tightly with the clip back in place. I have found doing, and sometimes redoing this, will work. I assume you have checked the Properties of the HID-Compliant Touch screen driver and it confirms the software in place but the device is not connected?  Come back to me if you need talked through any of this. Hope it helps

Hello,

Thank you for the reply! Yes, device manager says everything is ok. HID-Compliant Touch shows "this device is working properly" or something similar to that. I might check what you have said earlier about the ribbon cable, but this problem occurs in pretty much every 1013 tablet I have at my work place.
