I have an HP EliteBook 840 G8 Notebook and a HP USB-C G5 Essential Dock. Last weekend, I bought two LG 24” FHD monitors and connected them to the docking station via DP. However, 9 out of 10 times, the docking station won’t recognize the monitors.
I’ve tried updating the firmware of the docking station,
the BIOS of the laptop, and the drivers of the VGA (from HP and Intel site).
I’ve also changed cables, tried using only one monitor instead of two, and connected via HDMI instead of DP.
I also tried with another docking station from Dell but the problem still exists. All other devices, such as keyboard, mouse, and headset that are connected to the docking station are recognized only the monitors are having issues.
The only solution that I have found so far is to do a power reset to the laptop by holding the power button & F6 for 20 seconds after that everything are working for a couple of times.
Any suggestion would be great !
