HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is it possible to install an IPS 1920x1080 display into HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 (G7U14AV)?

If yes, could you please advise on compatible screens that may be used for that purpose?

Thank you!

To answer my own question:

Yes, it's possible. It's an easy and non-expensive upgrade.

I've successfully installed an AU Optronics B140HAN01.2 (AUO123D) in my HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1.

I've bought the replacement screen on ebay for GBP 55.19:

Detelin,

I'm afraid that it is not possible to upgrade the panel on the 1040 G1.

Detelin,

Good to know.  I'm glad it worked out for you.

My response was specifically from an HP Supported Option perspective.  There were no post sale panel upgrade options for the 1040 G1.

I hope you have continued sucess with the 1040 G1, it has been a great platform.

Hi there Detelin, I am wanting to perform this very same upgrade. After looking at many forums on the internet, it seems really risky. Does the brightness work for you? and how does it work until now? im really excited to finally upgrade from a TN panel to IPS and having that 1080p resolution will be very beneficial.

Looking forward to hearing back from you !
