Hi there,
Attempting to connect HP EliteBook x360 1030 G7 Notebook PC to my Samsung monitor G955SD via HDMI cable.
When connected to the same monitor with other laptop, it allows us to set resolution to 5120x1440; however, my elite book does not allow this max resolution and only limit to 1920 x 1080
Could you please be able to advise how can I set max resolution to this device on the samsung laptop?
Kind regards,
Parbat Pokhrel

How do you connect them ? The specs of tour machine is
https://media.distrelec.com/Web/Downloads/_t/ds/EliteBook_x360_1030_G7_eng_tds.pdf
which has
2 USB 3.1 Type-C® with Thunderbolt™ support;
2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (charging);
1 headphone/microphone combo;
1 HDMI 1.4b;
1 External Nano SIM slot for WWAN
(HDMI cable sold separately.)
You use HDMI port to connect them therefore you can you can only get 1920x1080. In theory you can get a bit more with HDMI 1.4b but I believe for HP machines you get 1920x1080.
Just reading the specs of the monitor, Looks like you bought a wrong expensive monitor for your machine. The Thunderbolt port on your machine MAY work but I have not tested them
Regards.
