HP ENVY 13-d000 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Despite trying various connectors, my laptop won't connect to an Acer x112 projector via the HDMI port. The projector does not seem to detect the laptop (displays 'no signal'), and the laptop doesn't seem to detect the projector (there isn't the usual notification sound when plugged in).

I've tried various different solutions online but none of them work. Help!!

Hi @Becks731

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

I understand that you are unable to connect your Acer Projector to your HP Notebook.

I'd like to help.

Have you tried connecting the Projector to another computer?

Please complete all the Windows updates for your Notebook.

Select the Start  button, then select Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update. Select Check for updates. If updates are available, install them.

Then update the Graphics Drivers from Device Manager.

- In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
- In the list of devices, look for Graphics Adapters and expand the list.
- Right-click the driver and select Update Driver Software.
- Click Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated driver.
- Restart your computer to complete the installation of the updates.

Also update the BIOS from Here.

Let me know how it goes.

Thank You. 🙂

Hi KrazyToad,

Thanks so much for your response. Yes, I've tried connecting the projector to an older laptop and it works just fine.

I have done all the things you suggest (Windows updates, Graphics Drivers updates and BIOS update) and it still doesn't work. The laptop doesn't seem to 'know' that the projector is there (there isn't the usual notification sound when it is connected).

I would be grateful for further advice.

Thank you.

Hi @Becks731

I see that the issue persists after all the troubleshooting steps. I would request you to contact our Phone Support for Service Options.

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number and phone number appear.

Thank you.
