I have 3 year old HP Envy 17-ce100 CTO model: 6UX02AV and the USB-C video stopped working. I have a dual monitor set up and it has been working for the last 2 years without issue. I keep the laptop closed. Recently, it stopped working. I connect to one of my monitors via the USB-C port and the other via HDMI and all I get on the USB-C connected monitor is a blank screen. I use this exact setup with my HP work computer and have no issues. What I've done to try to resolve...
1. updated firmware on the laptop
2. updated video drivers for the Intel UHD and discreet video card (NVIDIA MX250)
3. tried a different cable, no change blank screen
4. using USB-C port on the other monitor, no change blank screen
5. using just HDMI, works fine on both monitors
6. USB-C works for data transfer if a hard drive is connected
7. USB-C hub on both monitors allows keyboard and mouse to work, but still blank screen
8. tried connecting a USB-C docking station, no change blank screen using the USB-C port on the dock connected to one of the monitors but HDMI works off the dock
I'm at a loss... I've tried everything I could think of to get this to work again. It seems like the video out on the USB-C port just went bad. Since there is only 2 video out ports, USB-C port HDMI port, I need to use both. I really cannot afford to buy another $1200+ laptop to get this working again. I usually keep laptops for at least 10 years. My older HP that this replaced doesn't have USB-C, but I can connect both monitors with adapters. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

I see that you are facing issues with the USB type c port on your HP Envy 17-ce100 CTO.
This could be a hardware issue with the unit and may need repair.
