HP ENVY 27 27-inch Diagonal IPS LED Backlit Monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Envy 27 inch IPS monitor stopped working.  The screen would flash the screen image briefly and also a small window showing external display status which showed "no signal" on the HDMI connection.  Then, it displays a "monitor going to sleep" message and goes black.  I replaced the HDMI cable with another and also tried a VGA cable which didn't work at all (black screen).  My PC is an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook running WIN 10 v.22H2.  I use a USB docking station for remote keyboard and mouse but have always connected the monitor directly to the Notebook using an HDMI cable.  The Notebook display works just fine.

Using the HP Support Assistant, I rebooted the Notebook, removed the battery and rebooted, rebooted the monitor, etc.  Nothing works and I get the same flashing display on the monitor briefly showing what's on the Notebook screen plus the monitor status window, then the "monitor going to sleep" message.

I don't have another monitor to test that the PC is OK.  Is the monitor shot?  Should I get a new one?
