HP ENVY Laptop 13-ah1xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought my HP ENVY Laptop 13-ah1xxx with touch screen from Costco.com a few months ago.  It's running pre-installed Windows 10 Home (64bit) edition.  The builtin screen goes dark for a second every few minutes, not at a regular interval.   It doesn't happen with external monitor over USB-C.  I assumed I hit a bug with the video card or the screen. Any suggestion ?

@BrooklyniteKL,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

Have you checked if the issue persists in the Bios.

If the issue persists in the Bios then this could be a possible hardware failure.

If the issue does not persist on the BIOS page try updating the graphics, chipset and BIOS on the PC to the latest version.

Uninstall the graphics driver from device manager and install the latest version of BIOS,chipset and graphics drivers on the PC using the HP support assistant.

Hell Jeet,

I've used HP support assistant to update the Bio as well as 4 other software updates.

However, I'm still having the screen flickering, not as long as before, but still noticeable when I am looking at the screen.  It refreshes with about half a second of black screen.  Do you have any other suggestions to remediate it.

Thanks,

Kevin

Thanks for replying, Kevin.

Have you tried checking the screen flicker on the BIOS screen?

Let me know.
