HP Envy Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I know the issue I am having does not lie with my USB C to HDMI Adapter, at least I do not think it does. Why? Because it works on my HP Probook just fine.  So here is the issue. I purchased a USB C to HDMI Adapter to work with my Employer issued HP Probook. Now I would like to use the same adapter on my personal HP Envy Notebook. I  will be honest I didn't even realize that my HP Envy Notebook had a USB C port on it until I got this new computer for my job. I guess I never paid any attention and besides I had no need to use multiple monitors pre Pandemic . Now since I am working from home. I use my personal laptop more often and I want to connect it to more than one monitor. I am already using the 1 HDMI port and I also have a USB to HDMI Adapter that also is working. I am trying to connect a 3rd monitor so that in total I would have 4 screens .The USB C to HDMI adapter I bought works on the Probook as I already mentioned,  but not on the Envy Notebook. What can I do to fix this?

Not all USB-C ports are the same. What is your HP Envy Notebook  ? Please use the following way to find out the model/product of your machine

For YOUR security reason, please do NOT post its Serial number (s/n) on Internet.

Regards.
