Hi @Beetle64,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy laptop is stuck in tablet mode, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue.
- Restart your laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can fix minor software glitches. Press and hold the power button until the laptop turns off, then press the power button again to turn it back on.
- Disable and re-enable tablet mode: Open the Action Center by clicking on the speech bubble icon in the bottom right corner of the taskbar or by pressing the Windows key + A. Look for the Tablet Mode option and click on it to toggle it off and on again.
- Use the physical switch or button: Some HP Envy laptops have a physical switch or button to enable or disable tablet mode. Check your laptop's user manual or look for a dedicated button or switch on the sides or bottom of the device. Make sure it's set to the desired mode.
- Update drivers: Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause issues with tablet mode. Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your specific model. Install the updates and restart your laptop.
- Run Windows Troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in troubleshooter that can detect and fix common issues. Go to Settings by pressing the Windows key + I, then click on "Update & Security" and navigate to the Troubleshoot tab. Select the "Hardware and Devices" troubleshooter and run it.
- Perform a system restore: If the issue started recently, you can try restoring your laptop to a previous point when tablet mode was working fine. Type "System Restore" in the Windows search bar and open the corresponding settings. Follow the on-screen instructions to restore your system.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
