I have had screen issues with my HP Envy since the day I bought it 3 years ago and I am so mad at myself for not bringing it back.  It has been fairly manageable until now.  When the screen would flicker and there would be flashes of round circles across the screen I used to be able to just turn off the screen and then back on and it would correct itself.  Or I could hold my palm on the screen for a moment and it would stop.  But for the last few weeks that solution doesn't help anymore and the issues have gotten much worse.  Now, it is like someone else is controlling my computer.  It flashes to new pages or documents all by itself and I cannot exit out anything or do anything.  I have to restart my computer and only sometimes does that correct it.  I am at the point today where I can hardly use the laptop at all.  When it IS working and I try to use the touchscreen for something it just goes crazy like it is possessed.  Is there any solution for all of this?  I have read online that this is common with this laptop so I am hoping a fix has been found.

Have you tried checking with an external monitor does the issue persist?

Does the issue persist on the BIOS page?

 

If the issue persists on the BIOS page it is a hardware issue with the display.

 

If the issue does not persist on the BIOS page try updating the graphics, chipset and BIOS on the PC to the latest version.

 

Uninstall the graphics driver from device manager and install the latest version of BIOS,chipset and graphics drivers on the PC using the HP support assistant.
