I have had 2 HP envy's in the span of a year and both have had the same issue, the touchpad always gets stuck. It is so frustrating when I click and i have to bend or hit the bottom of my laptop to fix the touchpad because it is stuck. If anyone has any fixes to this hardware problem please respond. I have updated all my drivers to the latest and run all the diagnostics suggested. Please help!

Hi @Jason_M2,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It's unfortunate that you're experiencing recurring issues with the touchpad on your HP Envy laptops. If you've already updated drivers and run diagnostics without success, you may want to consider the following additional steps.
- Clean the Touchpad: Dust and debris can accumulate around the edges of the touchpad and cause it to become stuck. Use a can of compressed air to blow out any dust or particles that may be affecting the touchpad's movement.
- Adjust Touchpad Settings: Check the touchpad settings in your system preferences or control panel. Sometimes, adjusting the sensitivity or other settings can improve performance. You can access these settings through the "Mouse and touchpad" or similar section in your system settings.
- BIOS/UEFI Update: Ensure that your laptop's BIOS or UEFI firmware is up to date. Manufacturers often release updates that can address hardware-related issues. Visit HP's official support website, enter your laptop's model number, and look for any available BIOS updates.
- Check for Physical Damage: Inspect the touchpad for any physical damage. If you see any visible issues, such as cracks or loose parts, it might be a hardware problem that requires professional repair.
- External Mouse Test: Connect an external USB mouse to your laptop and check if it experiences the same issues. If an external mouse works fine, it could suggest an issue with the touchpad hardware.
Remember to back up your important data before attempting any hardware-related fixes or taking your laptop for repair.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
