I have a brand new Envy x360 supplied with W11. I had the expectation that the screen would autorotate when in tent/tablet mode but it does not. Also the rotation lock in the settings is greyed-out.
Any thoughts comments appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. Congratulations on your new HP ENVY 13-Ay1000 X360 Convertible PC.
I see that you are facing issues rotating it to the tablet mode. Do not worry, we are here to help you with it.
Since it is a new system, I would suggest you update the drivers and check if the issue persists. Here is a link that will help.
Along with that, please update the Windows of your system. Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and then select Check for updates. If updates are available, install them.

Curious that HP should suggest fixes that don't work
Windows 11 does not support screen rotation - I believe it is a feature that Microsoft do not think is used
I bought my HP Envy with Windows 10 and upgraded to 11 when it came out I uninstalled it when I realised screen rotate was not an option
The only option I am aware of is to downgrade to Windows 11 if you can with a new machine
Why have HP not fixed this?
Why are they shipping laptops with software failure?
Why have they "disabled" the main distinguishing feature of the laptops?
