I boot up my HP Envy x360 and the screen keeps flashing blank. I can not open any settings or even the windows bar as nothing is displayed.
This is the second time I have had an issue with this laptop as the first I had to return and replace.

Hi @DCheats,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy x360 display is flashing and you're unable to open Windows, there could be several possible causes for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Perform a hard reset: Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if possible) from your laptop. Then, press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Reinsert the battery (if applicable) and power on your laptop to see if the issue is resolved.
- Check the power supply: Make sure your laptop is receiving adequate power. Ensure that the power adapter is properly connected to both the laptop and the power source. Try using a different power outlet or power adapter if available.
- Check for external display issues: If you have connected an external monitor or TV, disconnect it and check if the issue persists. Sometimes, display problems can arise due to conflicts with external devices.
- Update graphics drivers: Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can cause display issues. Visit the HP support website and search for your specific laptop model. Download and install the latest graphics drivers available for your device.
- Boot into Safe Mode: Restart your laptop and repeatedly press the F8 key (or a different key depending on your laptop model) during startup to access the Advanced Boot Options menu. From there, select Safe Mode and see if the issue persists. If the display works fine in Safe Mode, it could indicate a software or driver problem.
- Perform a system restore: If the issue started recently, you can try performing a system restore to a previous point when your laptop was functioning correctly. This will revert your system settings and drivers to an earlier state. To do this, access the Advanced Boot Options menu (as in Step 5) and select the System Restore option.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
