Hi @sbalaji01,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

  1. Device Manager Check:
    • Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
    • Expand Human Interface Devices.
    • Look for HID-compliant touch screen. Right-click it and select Enable if it is disabled. If it’s already enabled, select Disable, then Enable to refresh the feature.

Update or Roll Back Drivers:

Update Driver:

  • In Device Manager, right-click HID-compliant touch screen and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Roll Back Driver:

  • If the issue began after an update, you might want to roll back to the previous driver version by selecting Properties, navigating to the Driver tab, and choosing Roll Back Driver if the option is available.

Perform System Restore:

  • Use System Restore to revert your computer's settings to a point before the issue began:
    • Search for and open Create a restore point from the Windows search bar.
    • In the System Properties window, click on System Restore and follow the instructions to choose a restore point before the Windows update.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Install Pending Windows Updates:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update to check for and install any pending updates that might address the issue.

Run Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Use Windows Troubleshooter:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot and select Hardware and Devices. Follow the prompts to let Windows try to find and fix problems.

BIOS and Firmware Update:

  • Update BIOS/Firmware:
    • Visit the HP Support page to check for any available BIOS or firmware updates for your specific model, as these can sometimes resolve hardware detection issues.

I hope this helps.
