HP Envy x360 Convertible 15m-eu0xxx will not connect to miracast (MSDISPLAY ADAPTER).  I have called premium service, and so far, they have not been able to help.  MSDISPLAY (a piece of hardware that uses miracast protcol and attaches to remote monitor via HDMI) on the remote monitor works with other computers and with my phone just fine.  Only fails when trying to wirelessly connect from HP.  Premium support downloaded new drivers.  Still fails.  Connection to display works when using HDMI cable.  But I want the wireless connection to work.  HP can see the MSDISPLAY and will attempt to connect.  Remote monitor responds saying a connection is in progress.  Then the monitor just goes back to home page, no connection.  How to connect HP Envy to remote monitor using miracast?

The series has following wifi card options

  • Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth® 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro® 160 MHz PCI-e+USB WW WLAN module with 2 antennas
  • Realtek ac 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 M.2 2230 PCI-e+USB WW WLAN module
  • Realtek 8852AE Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5.2 M.2 2230 PCI-e+USB WW WLAN module

None of them support Miracast.

Regards.

Banhien, I appreciate your reply, but it would seem you are incorrect for two reasons.  I went to https://www.techsolutions.support.com/how-to/how-to-check-if-my-windows-10-pc-supports-miracast-1254... and found two ways to check if my computer will do miracast.  Both indicated it does.  First, I simply went into settings->display->Multiple Displays.  It has a "Connect to wireless display" and the "Connect" button is active.  Second, I invoked dxdiag the way the web site recommends, saved the report, and here's the line out of that report:

Miracast: Available, with HDCP

Doesn't that mean the hardware and software on the computer thinks miracast should work?

Also, I just tried something different.  I have 2 PCs.  On the non-HP PC, I enabled it to accept projections from other PCs.  When I did, the non-HP PC said it would only work if the projecting PC used Miracast.  Then I went to my HP PC and tried to cast to my non-HP PC.  It worked just fine.  It's only the MSDISPLAY ADAPTOR, it appears, that will not work.  Why?

Yet one more experiment I did:  Instead of the MSDISPLAY ADAPTER, I used the ScreenBeam Mini2 Wireless Display (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O14JG2Y?ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_asin_image&th=1).  Worked perfectly from my HP Envy to an old dumb external monitor.
