Overview
I've had an issue for the last 6 months, where I'm unable to have my laptop (HP Omen) connect to my HP G2 universal dock and display to both monitors, where previously for the prior 6 months it was working and displaying to 2 external Dell Monitors of the same model.
It's almost assuredly driver related but I've been racking my brain and unable to resolve this, and at the point where I'm just about to ditch the dock all together and go on a hunt for one that works with my setup. Part of the issue is this is BYOL laptop for my work, so while I have more privileges than most on it and can upgrade/downgrade firmware, I'm still bound to certain limitations (like not rolling back Windows Updates).
I'm stalled out and struggling on where to go next or even for confirmation on what setup works with my laptop, so even if I go down the route of buying a new dock, how can I ensure it actually works with my current setup OS/Laptop config. Any pointers on where to go next or what to look for are much appreciated. I'm a Linux fan, so troubleshooting in Windows is not my forte.
Steps Taken:
* Upgraded the Dock to the latest firmware
* Upgraded Nivida Card to the latest firmware
* Downgraded the Dock the previous working firmware version
* Created a case with HP Support, did troubleshooting and had a replacement ordered
* Tried forcing the disable of laptop screen to enable dual monitors
* Tried Rebooting and power cycling both device and laptop
* Tried checking, disabling, re-enabling and updating the DisplayLink drivers on my laptop
* Looked at posts like this G5 Dock not detecting monitors but no luck in the suggested steps

And to further complicate issues, this current configuration still works on my home HP dock:
* HP USB-C Dock G5, 5TW10AA
Based on the fact the G2 dock just stopped working, I'm reluctant to by another G5 in the off-chance it too just suddenly ceases to stop working and then I have 3 very expensive paperweights.
