I have the following laptop:
HP ZBook Firefly G11 14
I am currently using a Dell D6000 dock with this laptop, to power 3x QHD screens, but the performance is terrible. It's quite laggy and I guess this is down to it being a DisplayLink dock.
I was planning to purchase a dock that supports DisplayPort Alt-Mode and it appears that the HP G5 dock should do the job. However, I just wanted someone to confirm whether this particular dock will definitely be able to power 3x QHD screens with no lag issues?
Also, there appears to be 3 different variants of the G5 Dock:
- HP USB-C Dock G5- Suitable For Up To 3 Additional Monitors
- HP USB-C Dock G5
- HP USB-C Essential Dock G5
What are the differences between these 3 variants?

The main one should have product id : 5TW10AA#aaa (aaa is country/region code). Depending on your computer you can connect 3 monitors as shown. Your machine (same as mine) has 2 TB ports Alt mode as DP 1.4
I tested only on 3 FHD monitors. you should be able to get 3 2.5K monitors because your machine (as mine) supports Alt DP 1.4
Regards.

Hello again,
I purchased the G5 dock and have been using it with my laptop. However, I've had a few issues and I'm trying to figure out whether they are related to the dock or the laptop.
1) Screens randomly flickering: Sometimes my main monitor (on the HDMI connection) goes blank for a few seconds and then comes back on. On rare occasions it won't come back on (says no signal) and I have to press the power button on the dock for it to come back on.
2) Video issues: I have a webcam connected to the dock. When on a Teams group call, there is a noticeable lag every few seconds on the video only. Also, this morning I could not see the video of some participants in the call because it was appearing "glitched".
3) Audio issue: I have a conference speakerphone connected to the dock. When on a Teams call sometimes the audio doesn't come through, so I have to switch devices in Teams and then it picks up the audio.
Apart from these issues, the dock works well, but these issues are really annoying and I would appreciate if anyone is able to help me diagnose these issues, as I'd prefer not to buy another dock.
