Product: HP ProBook 450 G5

After what I believe was a mandatory Windows Update, the f3/f4 keys for screen dimming no longer function and trigger a small error box showing 'HP Hotkey Support'.  I have tried reinstalling drivers, updating BIOS, and several other support page options with no luck.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was having this same problem. I downloaded HP support assistant from HP.com and it worked after I restarted my laptop. I don't know if I didn't have it downloaded previously or just download an updated one, but both brightness and volume work now with no error pop-up. I hope it helps you guys too.

Hi. I reinstalled sp103615.exe

If the installation did not occur in automatic mode, then go to the package unzipping folder (..\SP103615\src\DCHU\HotKey_legacy) and run setup.exe .

 

HP HotKey Support Software (HP HCS) provides support for controlling hotkeys and buttons on the front panel or cap (fixed laptop buttons that provide quick access to a specific function when pressed) for HP business laptops. This package is provided for supported computer models running a supported operating system.
