Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

When I use the keyboard or mouse, I see my input for roughly 6 seconds, and then things seem to stop for roughly 6 seconds. For example, as I type this, I can see my input showing up on the screen for roughly 6 seconds; then the input stops showing for roughly 6 seconds. If I continue to type blindly during the pause, the keystrokes show up after the pause.  I had resolved this before by turning off indexing, but suddenly that no longer works.
