HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 (2J4W0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

The 1yr warranty on my laptop just expired last month. Then just this week bam! The display suddenly started flickering. I did all the troubleshooting suggested. Devices manager, update driver, reinstalled driver, ran diagnostics etc etc. Nothing fixed it. Then I realized that if I moved the screen to a particular angle, the flickering stopped. It worked as normal. So now I suspect the display cable. How could that be? I yr old laptop? My previous laptop lasted 6 yrs! It didn't die, I just wanted a newer model. So, after searching the manual, I found the cable part number. Hp laptop display cable l63615-001. Went to HP parts store, they don't sell this cable. UGH! The only place I have found it so far on the internet, is eBay and the cable is used. What?! I am so angry right now. Why doesn't HP have this cable or a trusted supplier? I am so disappointed, I loved my previous HP laptop so much. There was no link in their parts store. HELP! Note, I am quite capable of changing the cable myself, I just need to know where I can order a new one. Links would be quiet helpful. Thanks.

1) My Laptop screen is fully functional again. Yay 💪🤩. I purchased a used display cable from Ebay for $15 bucks (including shipping) and did the installation myself. One of those cellphone toolkits from amazon or Walmart makes your life a lot easier.

2) One issue I faced installing the cable, was with the connector to the the display itself. That thing is not firmly secured to the screen and needs careful handling getting it to seat properly. It has to be held in place by tape. Crazy! 🙄

3) The cable failing at exactly 1 year (post regular warranty) makes me weary of HP going forward. They don't reward you for loyalty it seems.

4) The key to this was making the proper diagnosis based of the symptoms. Youtube was a great help  with that.

5) This video from HP was very helpful for those brave enough to attempt this on their own. If not get an expert to do the repair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsu9yvF3KQY&list=WL&index=274&t=1875s

Question: Why isn't this simple part available from HP or their suppliers? That is sad 😥
