HP Laptop with HP USB-C Dock G5 not recognizing my two Dell P2214H monitors
I have tried display port cables to display ports; VGA ports to display ports. I have updated drivers, software, etc. My computer is up to date. I made sure all the drivers are up to date on all the products.
Everything. These monitors work connected to another old CPU computer and have power. They do not have HDMI ports.
But this laptop will not recognize the external monitors. Why???
Every Youtube video or Reddit post basically says, these monitors should work and should be compatible, especially, since I was using a docking station. The docking station works and everything attached to it works great, scanner, printer, USB items. Everything except the monitors. Why is the docking station not recognizing the monitors? Or is it the laptop not recognizing the monitors? Note: HP site is noting the S/N of the docking station is not found but it is brand new.
Before I go any further. Can anyone confirm that YES this HP laptop should allow for external displays. I have researched this computer and that is the one answer I cannot find. I have tried to solve this issue for 4 days and I don't want to buy newer monitors if that is going to be a waste. These monitors are not that old. The laptop is not that old, maybe from 2022. This set up should work. Please help. I am so sad.
Thanks.
Edit: the monitors keep displaying that they are going into power save mode. I have unplugged them and plugged them back in, but the laptop will not recognize them. Not sure if this is making the issue worse or not, but just FYI.
Edit to add laptop model as I though I had included it: HP Laptop 17-cn2267st (6T704UA)
