HP MPP 1.51 Stylus

I haven't used my stylus in a long while so I had bought new batteries for it but I've changed the batteries and the tip but no matter what i do it wont work on my laptop (hp envy) I've double checked the battery restarted my laptop, checked compatibility, checked for drivers etc. but there are apparently no drivers for this pen. I've basically done all the troubleshooting that i can find :((

Also I know that my touch screen is working as I can still use my finger to do things on the laptop its genuinely just the pen and now I worry I'll have to buy a new one :(((

I'm very confused please help I use my laptop for art and I'm sad I cant draw now lol.

Hi @Richie05,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your stylus pen!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Ensure the Stylus is Powered:

  • Double-check that the batteries are correctly installed and make sure that they are fresh. Some batteries may need a certain orientation to function properly.

Re-pair the Stylus:

  • If your stylus communicates with your laptop via Bluetooth, try removing it and then re-pairing it in the Bluetooth settings.

Windows Ink Settings:

  • Navigate to Settings > Devices > Pen and Windows Ink and ensure that all the settings are configured correctly. If options like "Show Visual Feedback" are enabled, try toggling them off and back on.

Check Compatibility:

  • Verify that your specific model of HP Envy supports the HP MPP 1.51 Stylus. Ensure that it is listed as compatible on the HP website or your product documentation.

Perform System Updates:

  • Ensure that your Windows and HP drivers are up-to-date. Navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and check for any pending updates.

Reset Touchscreen Configuration:

  • Sometimes recalibrating or resetting your touchscreen configuration can help resolve stylus issues.
  • Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Tablet PC Settings and follow the on-screen instructions.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Visit the HP Support Website to see if there are any firmware updates available for your stylus or touchscreen device.

I hope this helps.
