Pavilion 15-CX0056WM
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Pavilion 15-CX-0056WM laptop that I recently upgraded the M.2 and RAM. I reinstalled Windows 10 and realized that my touchpad driver was missing. Windows is version 10.0.19044 Build 19044.

It does not show up under Human Interface Devices nor Mice and other pointing devices. I checked before and after I enabled View>Show Hidden Devices.

I tried to uninstall all mouse drivers.

I went to the HP drivers site and manually installed the touchpad driver.

I went to the Synaptics website and installed their USB driver.

I tried to use the Windows troubleshooter but it does not appear to have a hardware or touchpad option.

HP Assistant was used to scan for outdated drivers and it did not report any.

DISM also does not report anything wrong.

Initially no multigesture on the touchpad worked. I was only able to use the touchpad to move the mouse/cursor and right/left click. I installed an outdated touchpad driver from August 2018 to get the 2-finger scroll to work but 3+ finger multitouch still does not work.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I understand that your HP notebook touchpad gestures is not working correctly. I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.

The last thing I can suggest trying to restore a computer back to the factory default, which will isolate whether it’s a software or hardware issue.

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

And, also refer to the article: Using the TouchPad or ClickPad (Windows 10)

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I have the same problem with 10.0.19044 OS windows 10

I rely on HP to offer drivers that support my laptop, however so far none of the available synaptic drivers is allowing for 2-finger scrolling.

I tried all your recommendations and same problem. Can you please send me a link to the synaptic driver that will work with my HP laptop as HP is expected to offer driver support that works with latest windows 10 available from microsoft.
