Hi @AT2612,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP notebook's camera isn't working and it doesn't have a physical camera kill switch or webcam shutter key, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow

Check Camera in Device Manager:

  • Press Windows + X and select "Device Manager".
  • Expand "Cameras" or "Imaging Devices" to see if your camera is listed.
  • If there's a down arrow on the camera icon, it might be disabled. Right-click and select "Enable".

Update or Reinstall Camera Drivers:

  • In Device Manager, right-click on your camera and choose "Update driver".
  • Select "Search automatically for updated driver software".
  • If no updates are found, you can also try uninstalling the driver and then restarting your laptop, which will prompt Windows to reinstall the driver.

Check Your Camera App Permissions:

  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
  • Ensure that "Camera access for this device" is turned on.
  • Also verify that "Allow apps to access your camera" is enabled.

I hope this helps.
