OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-b0000 (33Z77AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

1) Context :

I have a touchpad problem with my new hp OMEN 16 since the first week I bought it. I bought it 1 year ago, and I had many problems with the touchpad. I've searched many solutions for one year and tried everything, but nothing seems to work.

2) Tried solutions :

Updated windows 11 to the latest update.

Updated my hp bios to the latest update.

Updated All my drivers and especially touchpad drivers to the latest update from the hp site.

Deleted all my mouse and touchpad drivers, tested : same problem. Reinstalling them again and same problem.

Restarting my PC and Fn+F11 seem to be a temporary solution but it doesnt last more than 2min.

Using a usb mouse allows me to use the mouse correctly, but the touchpad still lagging.

3) Conclusion : So I concluded that the problem is not a software problem. It's a hardware problem. And HP is selling me a deficient touchpad. By comparing with many people searching for a solution to the same problem, I am sure now that the touchpad of hp PCs have a big problem.

4) Question : Will hp provide a free full support to correct this problem for me ?

Hello, I sent you my serial number in pm.

Thank you.

EDIT : I found some youtube videos that show how to solve the problem. They say it's because of the electrostatic charge that is created when using the touchpad. They say HP has forgot to put the earth cable to eject the electrostatic charge from the surface of the touchpad. I will put the videos here, maybe it will help you (I cant open the PC by myself).

Edit: TURN ON SUBTITLES. IMPORTANT REVISION AT 50 SECONDS IN. READ THE DESCRIPTION FOR ADVICE. YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! UPDATE: New video here: https://youtu.be/YZJ44v9s8XQ TOOLS: (Best little screwdriver/laptop repair kit I ever had. It has so many goodies for super cheap) ...
NOTE: first of all eject battery. Note: be Absolutely sure to tighten everything back snugly and line it all up properly Any deviation can mess with the click buttons. It's not hard. I just want you to be aware of it___. #HpOmenTouchPad #hpomenlaptop #hpomen16b
