Hi,
I bought a HP Omen 16 laptop 2 years ago. I have warranty till Sept. 2025.
The problem is that there is a hardware error on display. It is showing black lines from center of the screen till the bottom of the screen. Check the photos attached. I took this picture using my Phone Camera.
Can this be fixed by myself or I have to get it to the service center?
Thanks

Try entering the BIOS, when turning on the device press the F10 key several times, then see if you have the same defect if you have it, is the screen damaged and as it is under warranty you should not change the screen yourself but HP.

Yes.
This error is shown even while showing the 'Omen' logo during boot up. Also shows, in Bios.
Update: After booting to Windows 11, when I set the screen refresh to 165hz, then the error is there. If I change to 60hz, then only one black line is there.
I think this is a hardware issue. I shall contact the customer care. The should change it free of cost right? As it is still under warranty?
How many days it could take to fix this issue by HP Care?
Thanks

You're welcome, happy to help
I do not know how many days it takes to solve the problem, but they must verify the damage if it turns out to be a manufacturing defect, they make the change at no cost, then the times depend on many factors.
