Hello,
All of a sudden my RTX2080 graphic card stopped showing up on my Omen 17.
I noticed it because some games stopped working and the fan stopped as well. It is to going strongly when I am doing graphic works. Now it is only a whisper...
When I go to "system devices", the graphic card is not showing up and when I activate "show hidden devices" there is a "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080" but greyed out.
When I click on it I have the message "This hardware device is currently not connected to the computer. (Code 45)".
Apart from the usual updates, I do not remember any actions I did to deserve this : until very recently, the PC worked perfectly.
Now the NVIDIA control Panel tells me I have no RTX2080 installed on my Laptop.
I tried to do a system restore and I updated the BIOS through the HP site but with no success.
Today I have only the Microsoft basic display driver operational, how can I reinstall the NVIDIA graphic card ?
By the way while checking the system devices, I noticed 2 othe maybe connected issues :
1- An Intel PCIe controller (x16) 1901 - Code 19 error
2- The High definition audio controller - Code 45 error
Please help

I did answer your post a couple of days ago but apparently my answer was no registered...
In short the Intel PCIe controller (x16) 1901 had a code 19 error and that was the problem because the recognition of the graphic card goes through this controller !
My PC was already fully updated so your solution was not helpful.
I desinstalled the faulty PCIe controller and rebooted and everything came back to normal !

Let's do a SFC scan: Type cmd in the Start search box. In the result, which appears, right click on cmd and select Run As Administrator.
In the command prompt window which opens, type sfc /scannow and hit Enter.

Thanks for the tip. I got a "Windows Resource Protection found damaged files and was able to repair them." message but I would not know if it did anything related to the problem with the graphic card since it was resolved already !
