OMEN by HP - 15-ce044tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing really well!
I need some help/advice on an issue I recently encountered with my OMEN. I had not used it for a very long time and I thought to start it again and use it for some video streaming via HDMI. However, when I connected the smart tv HDMI to the laptop it showed an image but it was lagging and then a few moments later the image disappeared and the tv showed that there was not device connected to the HDMI.

I thought it was the cable, so I connected another laptop to the tv for a test and it worked just fine. Then I thought that maybe there was some issue between the tv and the OMEN, so I connected the laptop to an external monitor with a different HDMI cable but it did not work either.

I removed all graphic drivers and downloaded the latest versions, also I updated the Windows, BIOS and whatever other updates the HP Support Assistant App was showing. Still can`t get video or audio transmitted to the second screen.
When I connect the HDMI, I hear the Windows sound for a "New Hardware", but that`s about it.

When I open the Graphic Settings I see the second monitor but I don't see the built-in monitor. When I disconnect the HDMI the built-in monitor appears but then I don't see the second monitor. If I click on detect monitor it shows that there is not a second monitor connected. It`s very confusing!

I can attach screenshots if that would help?

Thanks!

Well, please TELL your other TV you connect it to a computer. Many TV's have few different HDMI ports and they have options to tell it which one is connected to a computer. Its manual will show you those options.

Thank you for your reply. However, I think you should read the whole post. The TV had video/audio initially but was lagging and then stopped. Also, I mentioned that I tested the laptop with an external monitor not just the TV.

Regards
