HP Omen 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I got my OMEN  HP device and seen that the keyboard lights were working well when I first started it up, but after reseting the system I can't seem to get the lights to turn back on even after pressing the f4 key button. Can you help me please?

Hi Milly16,

Try these steps:

  1. Open Device Manager
  2. Expand Keyboards and right-click your laptop keyboard
  3. Select Update driver
  4. Browse my computer
  5. Let me pick...
  6. There should be another option that is not the configuration you are currently using
  7. Select that and restart

Otherwise, you need to check for driver updates.

Milly,

To add to the info above...

How did you do the reset? Was it via the HP Recovery (F11) or something else?

If you hold down the FN key, then press F4 does it work?

If not, you probably need to install the System Event Utility which allows the F keys to work.

Which Omen 15 do you have?

If you open the HP Support Assistant, it will give you the product number. Then I can point you to the download.
