HP Pavilion 14-ce05024sa No screen display post MS bios update

Windows 11 has updated the firmware to F32 15.32.0.0 and the screen no longer displayed on power on. Connecting an external hdmi monitor works fine.

Product id 7KF87EA#ABU

The install was success, but after restart, I've got black screen

I have tried these but no luck:

- Turn on with Win+B keys

- Create an USB Recovery flash drive with the F30 BIOS upgrade file, then start the notebook with this flash drive plus Win+B combination. It could not find file (suspect a rollback is blocked)

- Replaced the memory

- Create a Recovery to an SD card, and try to start with Win+B

- Removed the battery for a while and without it on the screen did come back but only the once as revered to no scren when battery was put back in and repeated attempts provide no screen.

- Tried to push the power button for mor than a minute to reset

- I attached a second monitor via HDMI that works

I didn't get any beep or blinking caps lock button.

Are there any idea what should I try to recovery the notebook?

Hi @sdl811,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the black screen issue on your HP Pavilion 14-ce05024s!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Reset BIOS:

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor and ensure it displays.
  • Access the BIOS setup by rebooting and pressing the F10 key as soon as the HP logo appears.
  • Once in BIOS, select “Restore Defaults” and save the changes.

Rollback BIOS Update:

  • If available, you could try to rollback to the previous version of BIOS.
  • Restart your laptop and press the F2 key to enter System Diagnostics.
  • Use the option to rollback BIOS (if available).

Hard Reset:

  • Turn off your laptop and disconnect from the power source, including removing the battery if it's removable.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge remaining power.
  • Reconnect the power source and battery, if applicable, and attempt to restart the laptop.

Check Display Connection:

  • Ensure that the internal display connection is secure. This might require opening the chassis to check internal cable connections.

Operating System Recovery:

  • Use a USB recovery drive to attempt system recovery.
  • If you created a USB Recovery flash drive, boot the laptop using it to attempt system repair.

I hope this helps.
