Pavilion 15 cs1045tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

IMG_20200929_140955.jpg

I'm using Pavilion 15 cs1045tx with Intel UHD 620 graphics card and NVIDIA MX 130. When I use the laptop for a while, the screen flickers and splits the view like this. When I choose the other refresh rate, it becomes normal but just for a while then it flickers again. When I reinstall the UHD 620 driver, the same thing happens. I reinstall Windows too but the screen still flickers after updating the driver. When I close the lid and open it again, it becomes normal again then still flickers. I've tried many drivers but nothing worked. Now I don't know what to do with this sisuation. I need help!

@BroLight

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • When was the last time it worked without these issues?
  • Have you updated Graphics and Chipset drivers?
  • Have you checked the display on an external monitor?

Let’s try these steps to resolve the problem:

I recommend you attempt to access the BIOS screen by tapping on F10 while the computer is restarting,

If the issue persists in the BIOS screen which is outside windows, it would confirm a hardware failure.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi, thank you for replying me

The last time my laptop works fine without these issue is about 3 months ago. I've updated the graphics and BIOS driver. I've not tested on another monitor yet. And this issue doesn't happen in BIOS setting so I don't think this is the hardware issue. I tried to reinstall Windows for many times, but everytime Windows update the driver, this issue happens again. I also tried to install every version of graphics driver in HP driver page but it didn't work, by the way the BIOS driver provided only has one so I didn't have any other version to install. I believe this is the issue made by the software but I can't do anything to solve this problem. I hope you could help me.

@BroLight

Thank you for posting back.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. I would suggest performing system factory reset will put the computer back to the original factory settings in this way all corrupted and outdated software will be removed.

While doing the recovery there is an option to back up your personal files. If you have not previously done one now is a good time.

Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows)You can also contact HP support for assistance. They can remotely access your system to help alleviate difficulties: www.hp.com/contacthp/

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi,

I made a factory recovery using the HP cloud recovery tool. My laptop now turn back to when I first use it after buying. I've used for a while without getting any issue, but after, the screen flickers again like the way it did. Now I'm hopeless with this screen. Is there any other solution you could suggest me?
