HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-dk0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, Recently I bought the HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-dk031nv with:

  • Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz
  • 32 GB Ram
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 4GB
  • BiosVersion = F.20
  • BiosReleaseDate = 11/22/2019

The laptop is connected on an external monitor, and I don't face these issues when I am using the laptop's screen.

So the issues are the following:

  • BSOD - Memory Management when locking the PC and leaving it there say for 20 minutes
  • When locked the screen turns back on, back off and sometimes the lockscreen image has artifacts
  • This error: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000133 (0x0000000000000001, 0x0000000000001e00, 0xfffff8077c373358, 0x0000000000000000). This issue was caused by ntkrnlmp.exe is a Windows component which means something else drove it into Fault. Upon further analysis

fffff807`d53a0000 fffff807`d53d9000 nvhda64v.sys dated 2/18/2020 NVIDIA HDMI Audio Driver so I decided to check here

What I have tried so far but nothing worked:

  • Clean install of windows 10
  • Updating graphics drivers
  • Every windows 10 update available
  • Windows Memory test 2 times
  • Windows error check

My current state is the following:

  • No BSOD since i have not left the laptop locked for an extended period
  • No 0x00000133
  • But the screen keeps turning on/off and that leads me to believe that the error would occur again.

Also here is the minidump file:

Is this a known issue? How should I proceed? The laptop has still warranty for at east 7 months but due to the virus I would prefer to solve it locally and not keep waiting on service.

Thanks for your time.

Hi:

The memory management BSOD leads me to believe that your PC has a faulty memory module that needs to be replaced.

Run the hardware diagnostics test and see if the hardware passes.

Even if the memory passes the test, it could still be defective.

Contact HP technical support and submit a support case under the warranty if your notebook is still under warranty.

If not, below is the link to the service manual where you can find the memory removal and replacement procedure.

With 32 GB of memory, your notebook probably has two 16 GB memory modules.

Remove one of them and run the notebook off the remaining memory module.

If you still get the memory management BSOD, remove that memory module and replace it with the first one you removed.

My money is on one of those memory chips being bad.

Thanks for the reply, but do you mean this test?

I do not see a memory test here.

You're very welcome.

No, there should be a F2 hardware diagnostics test.

Restart the PC, and immediately start tapping the ESC key to get a menu of options.

Select the F2 System Diagnostics test option.

Any suggestions about this part of the original post?

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with that.

It could all be part of the memory management issue.
