Hi,
Appreciate there are lots of questions on this, but I'm finding it tricky to nail down the exact answer for my latop...
I want to extend my laptop display to two additional monitors. I was hoping I could do this with one displaying through the HDMI port and another through the USB-C port. I've bought an Anker USB-C to HDMI adaptor however nothing happens when I plug it in. Do I need another type of adaptor or is this just a non-starter? I was really hoping that buying a laptop with a USB-C would mean I could extend the display to two external monitors!!
On HP product specification is like this:
External ports
|
1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge); 2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate; 1 HDMI 2.0; 1 AC smart pin; 1 headphone/microphone combo

Hi:
According to chapter 1, page 3 of the service manual, the USB-C port does support display functions.
USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (supports data transfer, power delivery, HP Sleep & Charge; DisplayPort 1.4 out up to
4096 × 2304 @ 60 Hz through adapter; HDMI 2.0 out up to 3840 × 2160 @ 60 Hz with HDCP 2.2 through
adapter)
Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to let you know any more than that.

You're very welcome.
Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with USB-C devices and video.
I recommend that you start a new discussion on what type of adapter cable you need.
It may also be remotely possible that the service manual is incorrect.
