Pavilion X360 Convertible
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The screen popped out at the bottom near the hinge when I opened the laptop and the screen cracked.  It had not been dropped or mis-handled.  It happened 14 months after purchase, 2 months after the warranty expired.

It sounds like this is a common issue across this and other HP laptop models so perhaps it is a design fault of this model.  Is there a recall plan in place, or will HP offer any post-warranty support to fix this issue for me?

Another option is for me to replace the screen myself.  I have identified a replacement screen on ebay which says it is for this model.  It says it has a 30 pin eDP connector.  Is this right for this model?  Are there any known issues with replacing screens e.g. losing touchscreen?

Thanks.

@NicholasTodd1 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the HP Pavilion X360 convertible screen popped out and the glass cracked.

In that case, I would suggets you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Or you can contact the local service center for repair.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.
