Touchpad on my HP x360 is permanently stuck in the "clicked" state. The cursor appears and cursor can be moved with the track pad, but as I move it the screen displays a shaded box as if I am trying to drag the cursor to highlight multiple desktop icons. Win 10 and Synaptics drivers are current. I have done the following multiple times, not necessarily all always in the same order:
*Checked for new drivers
* Performed a hard reboot
* Uninstalled the touchpad from my system and reinstalled. No change. Trackpad remains stuck in the clicked state even after rebooting after uninstalling/reinstalling the device driver.
* Run the diagnostic tool, multiple times. Each time results are the same: cursor movement tests OK. Click and drag test fails every time.
* Tried bootup in safe mode; nothing about that helps
* Tried click/hold upper left corner of trackpad to turn it off/on. It cannot be turned off that way.
Other than this the HP 360x works as well as ever. I can use it at home if I install a mouse, but I prefer using a trackpad. If there is some obvious software fix, let me know. Otherwise, please provide the Product ID for the trackpad so I can buy a replacement. Thanks.
