Pavilion x360 2-in-1 Laptop

I was told by someone in the shop where I brought my laptop that the HP Active Pen G3 would be compatible with my HP Pavilion x360 2-in1 laptop.  So I brought the pen from an online shop as Currys didn't have one in stock and received it about a week ago but it is not working.  I've connected it via Bluetooth and if I press the top button it takes a screenshot or brings up a Notes page which it is meant to do but the nib does nothing... almost like it is not recognised.

Contacted the shop I brought it from and they have a 7 day return policy unless item is unopened...

Has anyone else had this and if so how was it rectified?  Or does anyone know what Pen is compatible with the laptop?

Thank you in advance.

@Tanya_Brooks80, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand HP Active pen is not working.

Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

If the issue persists, uninstall the keyboard drivers from the device manager and restart the computer.

  • Please right-click on start>select device manager>Expand Keyboards>Right-click on the listed drivers and uninstall them. Then restart the computer and check again if the issue is fixed.
  • If it continues, please replace the stylus battery and check again if it gets resolved.
  • If it persists, please try to perform the prescribed troubleshooting steps from this link: HP PCs - Touch Screen Stylus Pen Is Inaccurate or Stops Working

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
