I just bought a HP Pavillion Plus Laptop (14-eh0012TU) and my screen will refresh and go black every minute or so. How can I stop it from doing that? I have updated windows and changed my refresh settings, and it is still doing it constantly. So every minute or so the screen goes black and there's a little hourglass on the screen.
Any help would be appreciated.

This seems to be a hardware problem.
Tap the ESC key after powering on to run diagnostics. If the problem occurs during the screen test then check your warranty and have it repaired
https://support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty
https://www.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html
If it passes the screen test and all other tests then try updating the drivers.
I assume you have the NVidia graphics chip
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp149001-149500/sp149421.exe
If you have only the Intel graphics then this driver
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp147001-147500/sp147156.exe
If none of the drivers fix the problem then bring up the windows event viewer and look under "system" and also "applications" for errors.
