Hello Community!
I have the regular ol' pen that comes with this computer; however, lately, it has been disconnecting. I believe it may be palm rejection, but when I don't have my palm on the screen, the pen still disconnects.
What I have
- Used gloves to write (worked a little, not gloves made for palm rejection)
- Reinstalled the pen and touch drivers
- Stopped the digital keyboard from popping up by removing it from my taskbar
- Tried to use HP assistant
- Replaced the battery
I don't know why this is happening. It just started out of nowhere. Please help me.

Welcome to the HP Community. I'd be happy to help you resolve the issue with your HP Pen.
Let's try these steps -
Step 1 Run Windows Updates troubleshooter -
Click on this link to run the troubleshooter.
Step 2 Windows Updates -
1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
Step 3 HP Support Assistant Updates -
1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
If the issue still persists, try the next step.
Step 4 Re-install the touchscreen drivers -
1) In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
2) Expand the Human Interface Devices heading.
3) The touchscreen device is labeled HID-compliant touch screen, or similar. Right-click the touch screen device and select Uninstall.
4) Confirm the uninstallation.
5) Restart the computer to reinstall the touchscreen driver.
Step 5 Configure the pen input -
1) In Windows, search for and open Calibrate the screen for pen and touch input.
2) On the Display tab, click Setup.
3) Click Pen input
4) Follow the on-screen directions and check if this helps you fix the issue.

This has not worked. Maybe I need to downgrade to the previous window OS version?
The problem only happens when I put my hand on the screen. The pen just stops randomly when I try to write.

I'd suggest try re-installing the operating system. Please back-up the data and try these steps - HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool

We have already tried the steps to resolve the issue. Re-installing with the operating system will help us isolate if it is a hardware or software issue.
