I just bought an HP envy 360x convertible laptop. It is also touch screen. It came with a hp pen, but I cannot figure out how to use it. This pen is rechargeable, the end of the pen slides up to reveal the charging port, there are only 2 buttons. So, I plug it in to charge, the light turns orange, but maybe for only 5 minutes then shuts off. last time I plugged it in the light was white, which, according to the instructions, is supposed to mean that it's charged, so I unplug it, and it doesn't do anything. I have found that if I leave it plugged in, and the light is white then it does something when it touches the screen. But like before, as soon as it's unplugged, nothing happens. What am I missing - it's probably simple (I hope). Also, I have tried looking elsewhere for help, but nobody seems to have the same pen and their advice doesn't work... I hope someone can help!

Without knowing which of the x360 models you have it is difficult to guess which pen you have.
I would guess that the pen simply needs to be charged for an extended time - hours instead of minutes, for example.
Most (all?) of the newer pens do not require drivers so that is unlikely the issue.

What else?
Not sure, though after charging the pen, you would want to check to see what the settings indicate might be relevant.

Thank you for replying. I think my main struggle is that I hardly know what I'm talking about... I'm afraid I sound like a moron HAHA!!! But still my pen just won't turn on. I don't know, Maybe its hard to answer without knowing the type of pen? Maybe they're all so different? How could I tell you what kind it is? To clarify though, I have left the pen plugged in overnight before. When I first plug it in, the light glows orange, just like the instruction paper says it should, what's strange though, is that the light turns off after only a little while (I estimated 5 minutes before) then it shuts off, even though its still plugged in.

You are welcome.
Without knowing the model of your computer, I cannot guess / know which pen you have.
A good long charge was a good idea - too bad it did not help.
It doesn't matter, I guess. I cannot fix the pen. Smiling.
That said, it still matters that you figure out which computer you have so you can contact HP Support.
