HP Recommended

HI I have the HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen.

Now I had not used it a couple of months. So it wasn't working. I thought that the issue would be fixed by just charging it, thinking it was empty. Now when I plug it, it does light up orange/red as to indicate it is charging but not full yet. However, unless it takes a ful 24 hours to recharge, it won't recharge. The orange/red light keeps shining and it still won't work on my laptop. 

Anyone know how to fix that? 

I just moved so I cannot really find the packaging at the moment. But I remember there was an extra tip in there. Could it be the issue that the tip needs to be replaced? The current tip on the pen looks as good as new though.
